Paul Forrester to take on Route 6605.06.2015
Having recently announced Temple Street Children's Hospital as our charity partner, we are starting off what we feel will be long and successful relationship with a bang! The Joe Duffy Motor Group has grown substantially over the last decade, now operating eleven businesses. At the start of the economic downturn we employed 100 people. Today we employ more than 300 people throughout all of our franchises. As well as the growth in our own business, the motorcycle industry also continues to go from strength to strength.
Group Managing Director, Gavin Hydes is delighted with the progress of our Motorrad Retail Centre, achieving a forty percent increase in sales this year alone. He feels that the teams success is down to their experience and the fact that they know their products so well. Not to mention they work extremely hard for their customers to find the perfect fit.
"In terms of Temple Street, we here at The Joe Duffy Motor Group are a young company with young employers many of whom have started families and are parents to small children. Children are, therefore, close to all our hearts and at the start of the year when we were trying to decide which organisation to support we were treated to a tour of Temple Street. There we found a natural fit for our company.
The passion and commitment we felt while talking to the staff was inspiring, especially when the conditions that they worked in were sometimes so difficult. As for the Route 66 itself, we are sponsoring our very own Motorrad Master Technician, Paul Forrester, to go the run in 2016. Over the moon with being nominated to represent the group, Paul said "This will be the trip of a lifetime for me so I will be doing it on something I know well, a K1600GT should do the trick. I don't think I'll get away with taking an S1000RR along!"
In the meantime the team will be raising money for Temple Street throughout the next year or so. We are more than committed to the cause as a group with 45 of our employees already signed up to take part in the upcoming Clontarf Half Marathon on July 4th, with all the sponsorship money going to Temple Street.
Our target is to raise at least twenty thousand euro, but we will certainly be looking to surpass that number. We know we can rely on our customers, suppliers, and irsh motorcyclists to support this project so please get behind Paul and everyone at Temple Street Children's Hospital.
